Who Has OHMT Helped?

To date, hundreds of frightened, displaced children have received new Teddy Bears through Operation Hug Me Tight. While the circumstances of these children’s lives sometimes vary, they all share a desperate need for love, support and comfort. Whether a home is lost from a tornado, fire, or a financial/family crisis, it is OHMT’s hope to provide these children with a new friend they can cling to when their worlds have been turned upside down.

OHMT’s first recipients were victims of the January 23, 2012 Alabama pre-dawn tornado event. Thanks to the power of social networking and the generosity of friends who wanted to help, OHMT was launched the very next day. Since then, OHMT has touched the lives of countless children, all displaced and in need of comforting. In November 2012, OHMT made a very special delivery to Staten Island, a community that was devastated in the wake of the historic mega storm, Hurricane Sandy. In times of tragedy, the distribution of our Teddy Bears has proven to be a Godsend and I am so grateful to each and every one of my supporters for believing in OHMT’s mission.
